Another war time workhorse

These shots are of a Catalina Flying boat built between 1936 and 1946 – a workhorse of the US Navy, used in large numbers mainly in the Pacific. It was also used by many other Air Forces throughout WWII.

I particularly like the way the wheels fold in to the hull and the wing floats fold up out of the way onto the ends of the wings. The distinctive bubble in the fuselage makes them easy to spot.
